Learning Spanish? Here's a podcast
I still can't quite believe what I discovered this evening - a podcast for people learning the Spanish language
I'm amazed and delighted because at the same time as I started listening to podcasts, about 10 weeks ago, I started an adult education course in the Spanish language. Of course it didn't take long for me to start wishing I could find and listen to spanish language podcasts....... and I eventually found one - Communicando, el primer podcast en espanol. It's useful but a little too quick and advanced for a beginner like me when, naturally, it is not aimed at those learning the language.
That's why I'm thrilled to have found the How to Really Learn Spanish podcast. It convinces me that niche podcasts will have a huge market.

For people learning spanish, there's a full transcription of the podcast ''Comunicando'' in OpenOffice format (SXW) and PDF available.

Ah, I didn't realise that Jose. I've now downloaded one of your PDFs and found it excellent, even though it obviously isn't word for word the same as the audio.
Thank you very much for making this great service available - podcasting is really helping me to learn Spanish :)

I just discovered a new Spanish podcast called 'Finally Learn Spanish' by Edufone.com. I've had a year of Spanish classes so many of the Spanish podcasts were too basic for me. I want to learn Spanish quickly and I want to learn how Spanish is really spoken in Mexico. I was thrilled to learn how to order at a restaurant through their dialogs of real world situations. After listening to the podcasts, I was able to order almost all in Spanish at the local Mexican Restaurant. Their language learning tips are helping me learn faster.

Hi,
If you want an audio programme for verb conjugations, the Michel Thomas Advanced set is a good option. It is about 4 hours long, on 4 CDs, and essentially he goes through each tense and explains how to conjugate. His teahcing style is quite good so it doesn't become boring. On the down side it isn't cheap, around 50-60 Euros, and being all grammar you don't learn a lot of vocabulary.

Hola,
I came across your blog on learning Spanish and wanted to invite you to join our site. We just launched on Monday - www.spanglish.ie and our aim is to bring Spanish and English speakers together and help them communicate.
We are International and our members can communicate (in English/Spanish or a bit of both) and meet up. Already we have quite a few active singles looking for a mate! It's the best way to learn a language.
We also are building our learning material - podcasts, lessons, games etc.
Adios

Hi James,
This blog entry is like the gift that keeps on giving. Three years later and you're still getting comments on it! Have you kept up with your Spanish?
