Focus on function over form for webservices
Congratulations to the entrepreneurs behind Jobs.ie which has now been sold to IrishJobs.ie (according to RTE). Jobs.ie started out as Nixers.com and I remember looking in every few months and thinking how the interface remained very amateurish. But I never actively used the service (just kept an eye on the market out of curiosity) so I'm sure that behind the basic design it did an admirable job of matching job seekers to employers. In other words, they had their priorities right - they focused on function over form.
UPDATE: More from RunningWithBulls.com who works with IrishJobs.ie

hea james,
yup, the interface may not have been "high-class" but they had the one job posting deal which IrishJobs doesn't.
That market had to be catered for.
From what I hear, there was *alot* of interest.
I look forward to getting the chance to working with them.
cheers
