Impressive new Feed Grazer is launched

Dan MacTough was one of the first to offer a web based OPML browser but it didn't also read RSS/Atom/RDF feeds so it couldn't be called a Feed Grazer. That's all changed with the launch of Optimal which, for some reason, Dan still modestly calls an OPML browser.

Optimal renders valid OPML from any source in a tree-like view ideal for browsing. Links to external OPML files as well as RSS, RDF, and Atom feeds are expanded in place.

Now this is really impressive. You can use it to browse the Open Irish Directory or this Irish Blogger Feeds Reading List. Red arrows indicate the sub-nodes are distributed elsewhere on the web, separately from the top level file, but they can be imported on the fly by clicking on the plus sign. This is the beauty of OPML inclusion. Click on the plus sign next to an XML heading and watch the feed headlines load inline. Beautiful. So you can conveniently sample feeds without every subscribing to them. That's Feed Grazing :)
