Some questions *are* stupid, but you should still ask them

Great post by Richard Rodger on his blog, "How to Start a Software Company Without Really Trying" -

"Business is all about creating something from nothing. You have to explore all the avenues. If you’re just trying stuff that you think will work, you’re not doing enough. The biggest breaks come from stupid stuff. If most of life is just turning up, then most of business is just asking. The worst anybody can say to you is 'no'. Get over it."
I love this quote because the widom can be applied to blogging just as much as it can to entrepreneurship. When I first put mouse to TypePad a few years ago I was very timid about adding my own tuppence worth to any conversation. Who was I to have an opinion amongst all these experts? But what I've learned, like Rodger, is that you gain nothing by being like that. Going back over my archives I know that numerous posts would embarrass the old me. Maybe they should embarrass the new me too but I've nothing to lose.

In fact, to twist Rodger's turn of phrase, my new mantra is - "If my blogging isn't embarrassing then I'm not doing enough" ;-)
