The Enterprise Ireland newsletter advises that -
"Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheal Martin has launched the EU Grants Advisor (EUGA) programme in Ireland. The aim of the programme is to raise awareness among small and medium-size enterprises about the level of EU and Irish grant aid potentially available to them."
I thought we needed to move away from the grant culture in this country (towards an angel culture) but surprisingly -
"Research conducted prior to launching the programme revealed that only 46 percent of European SMEs were aware of EU grant aid. Furthermore, a mere 4 percent actually applied for assistance and just 1 percent were successful in their applications."
The website, at www.eugrantsadvisor.ie, isn't particularly well designed with a horrible horizontal scroll required to review grant descriptions. Well, in Firefox anyway, but considering the programme is a partnership led by Microsoft maybe it works fine in IE?
Anway, regardless of 'grant culture' its usefull to know what's out there.
