Pricing button for trial services?

Keith Bohanna asks a very interesting question in relation to his startup's new website - should they have a top level navigational element (button) for pricing? I think its a critical issue to consider because it drives me nuts when I can't easily find the price plans corresponding to a trial registration.

So if a site doesn't offer a free for life service then yes, 'Price Plans' needs to be a top level navigational element. If its hidden then it feels sneaky to me. On the other hand, is a free for life service is available then I'd say there is no need to dedicate valuable navigational real estate to 'Price Plans'.
