Introducing "EirePreneurZ" - the Irish startup interviews

I'll soon be posting the first installment in a new series of interviews with Irish startups which I'm calling, simply, EirePreneurZ. I've got the first interviewee lined up and will be publishing the dialogue after my return from Germany but I'm getting the word out now so as to line up a few more candidates.

I'm doing this because I'm keen to learn from the experiences of other entrepreneurs and there's no better way than talking to them. The idea comes from the People in Business section of the Sunday Business post which I really enjoy but regularly feel dissatisfied with, primarily by lack of depth. I want to know more about the background of Irish entrepreneurs, what makes them tick, why they chose to take the risk of going it alone, etc.

Interviews will take the form of an email exchange and companies covered will certainly not be limited to the IT area. In fact my first interviewee's business has nothing to do with the internet (though of course they do have a website). My only requirement is that the business catches my imagination, is innovative, does something I haven't seen before and just stimulates the entrepreneurial juices.

Please comment here if you'd like to be featured on EirePreneurZ or email me in private at the address under my logo above.

The People in Business section is always the first thing i go for. I agree though, sometime they are a little too press release like, with not enough depth.

Nice one James - one of the ones I wish I had time to do! No-one is doing this properly in Ireland. Not the Business Post, not Business Plus and not the Entrepreneur.

I am looking forward to No 1 and many more thereafter!

It's one of the more interesting sections of the Sunday Business Post alright.
Sounds like a cool idea anyway

Thanks lads, I had a feeling I wasn't the only one who'd like to read more indepth interviews with Irish entrepreneurs. I've already had a number of emails from interested startups and I'm very much looking forward to chatting with each of them in turn.

Your feedback and suggested questions for the interviewees will be very much appreciated.

Great idea James, do you think you'd like to extend your reach to north of the border? I manage a small technology business incubator in Newry Co Down, linked to Newry Institute and the University of Ulster. I have a few young start-ups based here who I'm sure would love to get involved in an interview. Let me know if you'd be interested. My email address is fegank@greenshoots-newry.com

You might even try feeding these interviews back into the business press.
Cold be a bit of income for you, increased exposure for you and the interviewee and some good interesting content for a publication. Seems like win win for all.
