Walter Higgins points to MiniBar London which he thinks should be right up my street. That's because I had a chat with him recently where I expressed a desire for more frequent, less formal conferences/meetups than BarCamp Ireland.
Let me be clear though, I thought BarCamp Ireland was the best IT event I ever attended and I look forward to attending many more. However I just wonder if it's too big an event to be held regularly and I'm inclined to feel that frequency of get-together is more important than the size of the gathering. There's so much happening on the web these days that opportunities can arise out of the blue.
Bernie Goldbach, Conn Ó Muíneacháin and myself are meeting at The South Court hotel in Limerick (map) this Friday 17th for a chat about "Second Life and virtual world opportunities". I'm afraid there's no free beer at the South Court but maybe we'll teleport to the Blarney Stone pub for a tipple ;-)
