Twittergrams - the killer app for MMS?

When I initially heard of MySay.com (an Irish startup), which was the first service I saw described as 'twitter for voice' I was a little skeptical on the basis that Twitter itself might so easily add audio functionality considering the shared DNA with Odeo.

But while nothing official is yet forthcoming Dave Winer is bootstrapping 'twittergrams', where Twitter meets podcasting. Bernie Goldbach adds an interesting twist to the idea suggesting that this might be the killer app for MMS or Multimedia Messaging Service - that 'upgrade' to SMS texting which never quite caught on. So I guess we could have video twittergrams too?

Maybe not MMS - it's way too expensive. But my phone has a little recorder built in - the microphone. A phone call, or a Bluetooth sync will do it...

You can get data plans that let you do all the MMS you want for a fixed fee every month. Knowing that, some college students will lead the way to contacting each other through seductive voice or video because that's a proven form of infoporn that hooks you up for the weekends.

"Call credit" is one of the top-three cited reasons college students give me for holding down their part-time jobs in deference to attending their full timetable of classes. I think inexpensive data services guarantee their working to meet this social media requirement.
