Web2Ireland.org recently wrote about Irish brothers Patrick and John Collison and their Silicon Valley startup Auctomatic -
"They rented an office in Limerick for three months but had no luck in securing funding in Ireland despite applying to Enterprise Ireland and other sources of seed funding. They headed to the US - and based on the team and the advisors they have put together they are on an upward curve."In fact Auctomatic is now part of the Ycombinator programme, they've secured $400,000 in funding and backing from the creator of Gmail. So we're delighted to announce that Patrick and John will be joining us in the AbsoluteHotel.com in Limerick this Thursday between 11am - 1pm where they'll do an informal presentation tracing the Auctomatic story. Anybody travelling on Paddy's Valley tour should be interested in coming along to this. But please let us know on the IrishOpenCoffee channel on Jaiku as the boardroom size is limited so it's first come first served.
By the way, Limerick OpenCoffee Club is a free networking event, open to all. If you're interested in entrepreneurship we'd love to see you there.

Great Patrick, see you there. BTW, please join us over on the Jaiku channel when you get a chance. It allows us to send out last minute updates/alerts via text when on route.
