I've received a Level 1 award from Social Entrepreneurs Ireland
On Wednesday news came through that my application to Social Entrepreneurs Ireland for a Level 1 award has been successful. I'm very honoured to be chosen along with 19 other awardees for this privilege and look forwarding to rewarding the organization's faith in me by successfully rolling out my social project over the next 12 months.
While the financial support is of course useful the really important benefit in joining the Social Entrepreneurs network is access to a large pool of talented and passionate entrepreneurs from all walks of life. I'm very grateful for the opportunity to meet with and learn from these people over the course of this project.
A special word of thanks too to Niall Larkin, himself a recipient of a level 1 award in 2005, for his encouragement and advice during the application process.

Thanks lads, looking forward to narrating the process too and documenting all that I learn about Social Entrepreneurship along the way.
The project is aiming to distill what I've learned over the last few years about social media and networking, then apply those techniques with affordable audio-visual technologies to enrich the lives of the marginalized elderly in our society. Step 1 is to build a video calling/conferencing network. Lots of exciting work ahead :)

Thanks Damian, Paul, Niall and Steve :) Interesting idea Steve, I hadn't really considered Post Office but that's definitely something to think about. Email is on it's way to you Niall.
