My apologies to anyone who downloaded the original 'Limerickroute.MyGPS' file from the post below - I'm after learning about a very flaky bug in MyGPS. Namely, that you need to save the calibrated file before loading trackpoints or doing any other manipulation. If you don't it appears that the calibration files gets corrupted. At least on my PC it does anyway.
So I've now uploaded a new (uncorrupted hopefully) Calibrated map file which should work fine. Please post a comment if not.
I've also decided that the quickest way for the moment to organise OpenEir updates is via a Technorati tag instead of a Wiki. So every update I post will now automatically appear in the brand new OpenEir page.
Finally, so that people can get a flavour of what these maps display I've started posting OpenEir taggged screenshots on Flickr. You can use Flickr's tag search feature to find these.
Point of interest: the big brown blob appearing towards the top left of the Limerick map is the enormous Aughinish Alumina plant on the Shannon Estuary.
