You've had one of those days when everything goes wrong, right? When your customers are shouting at you, you realise you forgot to respond to a few really important emails, you remember that you've fallen completely behind on accounts and the damn computer just won't do what its supposed to do! Frustrating to say the least, especially when its at the start of a week.
Well today was one of those days and the stress was building up to explosion point before afternoon. So what do? Well actually I walked outside and saw that it was a remarkably nice day. The midwest escaped the showers and it was glouriously sunny for most of the day. I put on the kettle, took a 15 minute stroll through the garden, soaked up the sun and then made a lovely cup of Columbian coffee for myself.
While I was drinking it I pulled up Bloglines in my browser and came across this great quote from a fresh post in Adam Curry's blog -
Joseph Rickaby: "A great preservative against angry and mutinous thoughts, and all impatience and quarreling, is to have some great business and interest in your mind, which, like a sponge shall suck up your attention and keep you from brooding over what displeases you.Boy was that 'mucic to my ears' on the day that was in it. It just so happens that I do have a business idea in my mind and reading this quote saved me from brooding over what was displeasing me for the rest of the day. Sure, the problems haven't gone away but I've been dealing with each in turn and sitting here this evening I can remember again why I love being a self-employed entrepreneur :-)
