On yesterday's Sunday Times two Irish business people explained how winning business competitions can be hugely beneficial, while at the same time Ed Byrne warned about the pitfalls of entering some such competitions.

I don't think Ed was disagreeing with entering business competitions, just not ones that smell of BS. Winning anything to do with the SFA or Ernst & Young is quite an achievement and would do wonders for your business because their name carries such weight. However the Digital Media awards are a joke, God knows how the country manager for Apple let his name be associated with them - they're a money spinner, pure and simple!

Well that's what I was alluding to Piaras - I didn't mean to make it sound like Ed would blacklist all competitions. So I've added the underlined 'some' to the post now.
Thanks!
