Excellent! The 'old' Irish media have actually deigned to participate on the blogosphere with RTE commenting on Piaras Kelly's blog to let us know that they've started podcasting Quantam Leap - their weekly science show. I'm now subscribed and the lesson for RTE is that I heard about it from a blogger!
Actually, RTE aren't the worst of them - they've had RSS feeds for a good while now and that's where I get all my 'mainstream' Irish news. Certainly not from the walled garden newspaper sites.
Well, from what I've heard, it's not due to a lack of willingness -- it's due to a lack of support (and funding!) from upstairs.

Their RSS feeds are grand but its nice to see that they're finally bending. No doubt there'll be some bump up in the license fee in order to cover the fact that they'll be developing podcasts...
Quantam Leap is the perfect medium to start though, they're aiming at the right people - the kids with the interest, with the possible access to technology and at least this gives them a good start.
When you see people catching Brian Dobbs and the Six One on their video iPod on the 8:17 train back to Maynooth you'll know they're onto a winner!
