I got a letter two weeks ago from the VHI suggesting that at my 'time of life' it might be a good idea to change my health insurance plan to one of their LifeStage Choices. Rub it in that I'm getting old, why don't ya?
Taking their ego-deflating advice I signed the form and returned it in the post. So I visited their website a few moments ago to see if my change of plan had bee processed. I logged in, just about remembering the username I registered ages ago, and looked around for the 'Your Plan' link, or something similar. Hmm, that must be it, there on the right hand margin under "Your Policy / Claiming". That would be a reasonable assumption right? Hell no, not with the VHI. Clicking on that takes you to a page with multiple drop down lists, the first of which asks you to select your plan. What?!? Don't tell me you can't pull that information from the database? Why do you need me to know it and select it?
Ah, hold on - there's another menu now towards the bottom of the left hand margin entitled "Your Policy". And one of the links is "Ask the Policy Expert". That should do the trick, right? Well, maybe... if you knew your policy number off the top of your head! Yes, unbelievable though it may seem they can't draw that information from the database either.
Sheesh, what's the point in exhorting people to register logins if you can't reward them with a modicum of convenience?
