Gavin and myself had an interesting conversation at the Geek Dinner in Cork last week about our Nokia 6630s (well it was a geek dinner!). I thought I'd kept up to date on all the great software available for Series 60 devices but he showed my one cool application I hadn't seen before which would automatically detect all the correct network settings, access points and so on, the moment you switch the phone on in a new country. Very nifty.
But what I realise now is that I've also completely lost track of all the great new hardware being launched. When the heck did they announce this BlackBerry clone? And could you use the Nokia E70 as a bluetooth keyboard for the Nokia 770? If so the combination of those two devices could see my Dell laptop relegated to stay-at-home desktop replacement status.
We should convene an Irish Geek Phone Ring over a Skype conference call and chat about tech that works. I would learn so much from people who have invested time in making things work for them. The recording would make a fine podcast.

With lots of editing, perhaps, but I'm a terribly incoherent speaker Bernie - that's why I love blogging!
In contrast you were extremely articulate in your podcast with the IBM's Philippe Borremans which I listened to over the weekend. The gift of fluent speech is a skill I truly admire.
So, like John Udell I should bite the bullet and practice, practice, practice. I'll Skype you for some geek chat tomorrow :-)
