One of the common whinges you'll hear from blogaholics in regards to podcast consumption is how dreadfully slow the audio is to process due to the restrictions of linear playback. Sure you can fast forward but that's equivalent to closing your eyes while you scan a written blog - you lose the ability to consume peripherally.
Optimal Browser to the rescue! I just wanted to see how Brian Greene's use of CommentCasting was coming along so I built a node for the two versions of his podcast - one with and one without comments. Open the the one With Comments, click on a few speaker icons, then the corresponding play buttons in quick succeesion, for three or more entries. Now you can listen to your podcasts in parallel - all it takes is a little practice (unless you're among the female of the species and can already tune into multiple conversations at once, as is a well known scientific fact) ;->
wow, this is great usage.
Just noticed that comments aren't ordering correctly interspersed by date when viewed in 'optimal browser'. Will have to fix that, it's obviously outputting them in order of appearance rather than by published item date. Livebook marks do this too.
I'll get onto it!
