On the same Friday afternoon that Sergio Longoni and Sterling Camden left comments about OPML autodiscovery Marjolein Hoekstra and I got Google Talking about that very subject and the possibility of using javascript bookmarklets to fill the void while waiting for browsers to add support. No sooner had the conversation begun than Marjolein was whipping up variations on existing feed bookmarklets and improving the features with every iteration. She explains -
"An OPML Auto-discovery Bookmarklet displays a list of hyperlinks to the OPML files that have been made available by the author of any web page. The bookmarklet lists each of these files as Grazr hyperlinks: when you click on any of these a Grazr window is opened in a new tab, displaying the contents of the OPML file or the RSS feed."Go grab the links from Marjolein's blog.

Great idea. And ... the bookmarklet works fine on Mac OS X Safari too!
