Walter invited me to Twitter but he's since stopped Twittering himself. It's okay, Bernie's still Twittering away and I'm becoming more of a Twit each day.
Actually I'm fascinated by Twit. It occupies an interesting niche in the spectrum of textual communication somewhere between the asynchronous soapbox of blogging and the synchronous privacy of IM. Actually Dave Winer's (mostly) stream of thought, short text burst style of blogging is an example of twittering by blog..... hmmm,.... blottering?
If you value your text messages, you need to be careful when expanding your circle of Twitter friends. And if you are used to jumping out of bed when you get a text message, Twitter is not for you.

Well I lost my mobile a few weeks ago and have convinced myself I can do without one until the swiss-army-N95 is released (and besides I have a backup prepay) so it's not an issue at the moment. And even before I mislaid the 6630 I used always put it to offline mode at bedtime - ever since my days of doing 24 hour backup to a Sys. Admin. department I can't stand being woken by a text message! :)
