The Bad News: Picnik has replaced Ajax-based PXN8 as Michael Arrington's favorite online photo editing tool. The Good News: That means PXN8 was his favourite! And he still thinks "PXN8 is the best of the Ajax based editors (and the best overall until Picnik launched)". What a cool tribute to Walter and team at this small Irish startup.
Niall Larkin adds, in the TechCrunch comments - "the basic ‘enhance’ feature is key to pxn8 ’s appeal. PXN8 has been a life saver many times when I wanted simple, fast editing done without having to engage my brain." I haven't done any photo editing since losing my Nokia 6630 cameraphone but when I eventually get it's replacement, the N95, I'll be sure to kick the tyres on PXN8's new Preview feature.
Anyone who was at BarCamp Waterford will remember Walter from the Web 2.0 session where along with the other members of the panel he shared invaluable advice for startups. I have to agree with Conor O'Neill when he says -
"If anyone is looking to do a case study on on how to do things right in Web2, I can’t think of a better example than Sxoop Technologies, a small, focused, revenue generating, Cork-based Irish web company."
Hi James,
Thanks for the kind words. I think I was the least qualified person on that web startup panel but it was fun.
Walter
