Steve Poland has announced the launch of Ringside Startup - "The gist of the website is that I’m raising $20,000 from readers/sponsors — to enlighten everyone’s entrepreneurship education. With the contributions, I’m going to launch a web start-up (one of the Techquila Shots ideas) and blog the entire journey". Subscribed.
Paul Walsh has provided more detail (in follow up to his earlier tweet) about the British Council's Digital Pioneer programme - "I was contacted by the British Council this week and asked if I would consider becoming a mentor to a Hong Kong based mobile games company under a new scheme called the ‘Digital Pioneer Programme’. I have accepted because I think it’s a brilliant initiative... and an integral part of the programme is mentoring. The Digital Pioneers from Hong Kong will have mentors in the UK and the UK pioneers will have mentors in Hong Kong". Paul suggests a meeting with Enterprise Ireland to help clue them in on this kind of initiative.
A Dublin based e-learning company called nybble picked up on my 2 year old post about cheating at Leaving Cert Maths (with mobile phones) - "We are currently looking into adapting PointsBuilder so that it can be used on a mobile phone and allow students to revise for their Leaving Cert Maths exam while on the move. If we did then we would obviously advise against bringing mobile phones into exams!"
