Congratulations to all the winners at this year's Irish Blog Awards but I'm going to pick one out for special mention because he's been something of a virtual mentor to me over the years. Bernie Goldbach's was the first Irish blog I subscribed to and is still one of only 5 in my "Priority-A" group (i.e., the ones I try to read everyday).
Not just through his online journal but also his writing in the Examiner does Bernie demonstrate his incredibly wide range of knowledge and interest in technology and education. He's a natural born teacher who inspires students, fellow educators and anyone who tunes in with his infectious love of IT.
I hated missing the awards ceremony this weekend but I was rather under the weather. I couldn't even make it to the virtual event in Second Life (which looked amazing!). Next year for sure.
Ungrateful that he is , we sponsor an award that Bernie wins , and then he goes and gives it away.
Couldn't have done it better myself :-)
