Damien points to the 'same old faces' issue with the upcoming Barcamp Galway, Joe reasons that's it's because we suffer 0 degrees of separation in Ireland, while Walter says he's going along regardless to exercise his inner extrovert.
As Damien says though we really should be trying to bring along new faces. So I'm going to try adopting a newbie, and hopefully 3, before hitting the city of the tribes on 22nd of September. One is a New Zealander arriving in Ireland shortly before the event and two are attendees of Limerick Open Coffee. So hands off my adoptees right, go get your own!
I think everyone who has signed up so far should be contacted and encouraged to do what you are doing as well as emailing 10 of your friends to tell them about the evemt.

I'm thinking of coming. John Breslin mentioned it to me earlier. I won't have anything to add to the event unfortunately, I'd just be there as a spectator.

Looking forward to meeting you there Marie. I'm racking my brain to think of something to talk about myself but I'd suggest to all newcomers that you have a lot more interesting stuff to talk about or contribute to the event than you realize. Remember these are very informal 'presentations'.. in fact the word presentation is too formal.
In the true sense of an uncoference 'speakers' can simply be discussion leaders. So could I suggest to you Marie that you might like to lead a discussion on something like "how social networking is affecting the online publishing business". I, for one, would love to sit in on that.
