Bernard (RunningWithBulls) Tyers planted the GlobalMobileVision Googlebomb only a day or two ago and already its exploding.
He also created two new Technorati tags which, thanks to the public beta of the Technorati makeover, I can now track via RSS feeds. In so doing I think Bernard has unwittingly invented Tagmobbing and Tagbombing.
A Flashmob is usually defined as a sudden gathering of people into a physical space who do something unusual for a few minutes in unison and then disperse. I would offer the following definition for a Tagmob -
Tagmob: A sudden gathering of a crowd of bloggers into a virtual space who participate in the amplification of a specific topic for a short length of time and then disperse.
The difference between Tagmob tagging and regular Technorati tagging (as with Irishblogs for example) is that Tagmobbing is narrowly focused and transitory in nature.
To put it another way -
Tagmobbing = Flashmobbing fused with tagging
Tagbombing = Googlebombing fused with tagging
Of course every good tag deservers a good tagline. So, inspired by You're It! blog on tagging I suggest -
Tagmob - we're all it!
... and...
Tagbomb - we blew it!
Phew, I'm all tagged out!
